Nicola Spirig is an exceptional Swiss athlete, who was one of the world’s top triathlon athletes for 25 years and left her mark on the sport. After two Olympic medals, seven European championship titles, countless victories and successes, Nicola announced her retirement from top-level sport at the Greifenseelauf in the fall of 2022 – with a personal best in the half marathon.

Her career was also exceptional because, in addition to her successes, she completed a law degree, founded a children’s triathlon series and set up a foundation. She also maintained a focus on her family happiness with three children.
